Integration of Tea Culture and Regional Tourism——A Case Study on Historical Xinyang Revolution Base

  • Located in Dabie Mountain, Xinyang City boasts rich red cultural resources. The city is also known commercially for its acclaimed Maojian tea. Xinyang has a long history of tea planting. The fragrant Maojian tea is made with the traditional techniques handed down from generation to generation. Under the idea of all-inclusive tourism development, Xinyang inherits the red gene, protects its lucid waters and lush mountains, and explores the way to integrate tea culture and tourism. It integrates the historical and environmental elements that are of interest to the tourists by presenting the famed tea products, tea-drinking culture, and Maojian tea industry with a tour of the historical revolution site. The success story of Xinyang reinforces the validity of the idea of “all-inclusive tourism” to capitalize inherited advantages for the advancement of local wellbeing.
