On Reduced Use of Chemical Fertilizers at Tea Plantations

  • Reducing use of chemical fertilizers and improving efficiency of fertilization at plantations is an important step toward the development of ecologically friendly tea industry. Critical issues in the program execution include (A) utilizing organic to partially replace inorganic fertilizers, (B) implementing balanced NPK fertilization, (C) conserving and never depleting essential nutrients in soil, and (D) developing custom-designed formulation and application targeted for individual plantations followed by vigorous promotion to achieve a green and sustainable agriculture.
