ResearchAdvances on Pathway of Nitrogen Loss in Tea Plantation Soil

  • Nitrogen is anessential nutrient for the growth and development of tea plants. Consequently,it is significant concerning the crop yield and tea quality. Since an enormousamount of nitrogen fertilizer is used annually at tea plantations, any waste canconsiderably ill-affect the ecosystem. This article reviews the current statusof research on the leaching, surface runoff, ammonia volatilization, andnitrous oxide emissions associated with nitrogen fertilization at teaplantations. Critical factors affecting those issues are discussed to providereference for future studies relating to the loss control and effectiveutilization of nitrogen fertilizer at tea plantations.
