Abstract:
In recent years, the health benefit of Pu-erh tea has attracted increasing attention among the scientists as well as consumers. This article reviewed the publications regarding the pharmaceutical effects on cardiovascular diseases, gastrointestinal ailments, diabetes, and obesity as well as its anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, anti-virus, and anti-mutagenesis properties of Pu-erh tea. It aims to provide a reference for further studies in the field and foster extended applications of the tea for human well-being.
