Abstract:
The potential ofusing Mugwort (
Artemisia lavandulaefolia DC) essential oil as an insecticide to control
Empoascaonukii Matsuda was examined by means of the pesticide-membranemethod and fumigation in confinement in the laboratory. The essential oil showeda toxic effect by contact on adult green leafhoppers that intensified withincreasing concentration and contact time. The 72-h adjusted mortality rate was77.08% at 8 μL·mL
-1 .As a fumigant, the essential oil also exhibitedan impressive adjusted mortality rate of 96.08% on the insects 24h after thefumigation. The toxicity by fumigation on the insects would increase furtherwith exposure time, as the LC
50 could be reduced from 0.082μL·mL
-1 to 0.046μL·mL
