Abstract: Productquality and safety has long been a focal point for the tea industry in China.To maintain and guarantee a high standard of the products is critical for thebusiness development. The experience of the tea industry in Meitan county,Guizhou that adopted the European Q&S standards for their operations couldbe an outstanding example. The industry at Meitan explored, transformed, andupgraded their conventional operations to have achieved remarkable results.This article summarizes the practices, management, and effects brought about bytheir efforts, analyzes the quaternity optimization model and driving mechanismgenerated, and discusses the continuing challenges in the future. Theinformation presented in this article is deemed valuable for the entire teaindustry in the nation in striving for high-quality and safety on the productsfor the consumers.
