Abstract: To developtea plantations in China based on the ecological principle is to transform the industry from the traditional quantity-oriented mode into a modern quality-directed operation.This paper introduces the newconceptwithrecommendedcourse of actionsforthe nation. Variousoperational modes and on-going studiesrelating to the ecological cultivation of tea were reviewed. The importance and future prospect of establishing a low-carbon tea industry arediscussed.
